The Covid-19 pandemic is certainly a memory that will outlive our generation. Below are recent events that has led to millions of Nigerians to ask “Is there no more covid-19 in Nigeria”?

Funeral of Alh Shehu Idris

May his soul rest in peace, The Emir of Zazzau, Alhaji (Dr.) Shehu Idris who was on Friday rushed to 44 Military Hospital Kaduna, died at the age of 84, on Sunday 20th September, 2020 after a brief illness. And also was laid to rest in the ’emir’s palace’ of the ancient city of Zaria, Kaduna State.

During the Funeral of the late emir, thousand of Nigerians were present to pay their last respect to a man they proclaim to be a man who love peace. The Emir was indeed loved by all.

With the large crowd in attendance despite the public health crisis facing the world now. Millions of Nigerians across the country and in the diaspora will definitely begin to question themselves. “Is Covid-19 really in Nigeria?” “if really there is covid-19 in Nigeria why will the government allow such gathering?” “is the death of one man more important than the lives of over 200million Nigerians?”

Edo Election

The recently conducted election in Edo state in which Gov Godwin Obaseki was re-elected saw also large crowd of Nigerians coming out to vote. During the exercise, covid-19 guidelines was not  adhered to. most voters were reported not to have come along with face masks, No social distancing, most cases hand sanitizers weren’t used.

All this events stated above happened in the era where the world is still in the shock brought about by covid-19. with all this events going on the federal government is still yet to reopen schools across the country. Students across Nigeria are becoming frustrated day by day by the government failure to reopen schools.

Markets, religion centers, international flights have all resumed activities still yet the government haven’t deem fit to reopen schools.
