The battle for the Whitehouse 2020 has taken a new dimension as the incumbent Republican candidate, Donald Trump tests positive for coronavirus.
Mr Trump who had previously trolled Joe Biden of The Democrats for wearing masks, announced on Friday, that his wife and himself had tested positive and would quarantine themselves at the Whitehouse.
In response to this, Trump’s political opponent tweeted some hours later, bragging that he and his wife, Jill Biden have tested negative to the coronavirus. Me Biden, then went ahead to warn Americans to be less reckless (unlike Mr Trump?) and wear a mask. Below is his tweet as reported by Fox News:
“I’m happy to report that Jill and I have tested negative for COVID,” Biden tweeted.
“Thank you to everyone for your messages of concern. I hope this serves as a reminder: wear a mask, keep social distance, and wash your hands.”
Meanwhile, Twitter users were divided on their opinion on Joe Biden’s sarcasm: While some waved off his sarcasm on the pretext that recovery rate from the coronavirus is high, others condemned Trump’s recklessness in refusing to wear a mask. Americans will be heading to presidential polls on November 3rd, 2020 in which Trump and Biden are the two major contenders.
