Uproar in Lokoja as police opens fire on residents

Eye witness report stated that some residents gathered at one of the warehouses located  at zone 8 area of Lokoja owned by the government chanting solidarity songs as early as 7:00am with the intention of breaking in.

The security personnel at the ware house were able to tame the angry residents and so therefore, they called for reinforcements.  Tension was therefore released as the police opened fire on the residents and journalists present at the scene. Other citizens presents scampered for safety including school children.

It was reported that a journalist with the sun newspaper, Emmanuel Adeyemi, was allegedly hit by a bullet and has being moved to an undisclosed medical center.
