The Independence National Electoral Commission (INEC), a body charged with elections and electioneering processes, has a gotten a new boss in person of Air Vice Marshall Ahmed MUAZU. Professor Yakubu Mahmoud, whose first tenure of 5 years expired last month, handed over to the retired airforce chief who is a national commissioner.
Though President Buhari has reappointed Mahmoud for another 5 year second tenure, the appointment awaits the confirmation of the senate. However, with the current rapport the executive has with the legislature, it seems the confirmation of Mahmoud’s reappointment is a matter of time.
