The Democratic candidate in the forthcoming presidential election in November, Mr Joe Biden, has mocked President Trump for insisting on 1 physical debate, despite Trump’s recent coronavirus experience. The second phase of the debate was billed to take place on the 15th of this month at a town hall. However, after Trump tested positive for coronavirus, the organizers of the debate decided that spectators would gather physically while the debaters would feature remotely.

In response to the new arrangement, Mr Trump said he would not waste his time in a virtual debate. But Biden was quick to troll his opponent, saying that with the current COVID19 status of the president, one cannot predict what could come out of his mouth. Though Biden thought he was hammering on the unpredictable nature of Trump, it could also be inferred that, a physical debate was a risk because one could contact the virus through Trump’s breath, moreso that he doesn’t wear masks.

Paul Steinhauser of Fox News reported thus:

”With Trump huddling in the White House after being diagnosed with COVID-19 last Friday and after being hospitalized for three days at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center for coronavirus treatments, the Commission on Presidential Debates (CPD) announced Thursday morning that the Oct. 15 scheduled second debate between the president and Biden would be held virtually, with both candidates taking part from separate remote locations”.

Speaking with reporters Thursday morning before boarding a flight to campaign in the battleground state of Arizona, the former vice president was asked about the president’s insistence minutes earlier that he wouldn’t take part in a virtual presidential debate with Biden next week.

“You never know what’s going to come out of his mouth,” Biden said.

The presidential election in November, will test popularity or otherwise of Trump’s Socio-Economic policies as well as military engagements with other top Nations of the world, including Iraq and Iran.
